We provide a package on self-management of chronic pain for people on a rehabilitation programme. The initial 6 sessions cover education about the psychological aspects of pain, the link between stress and pain, and principles to support self-management of pain.
The programme includes an assessment, identification of psycho-social barriers to functioning, and a report to the referrer.
Therapy includes use of biofeedback to assist clients to manage their own stress levels and to minimise pain-stress cycles.
Our rehabilitation psychologists work within multi-disciplinary teams including specialised physiotherapists and occupational physicians to maximise benefits for clients.
