Vanessa has worked with many different psychological presentations including but not limited to; attachment issues, depression/anxiety, relationship issues, and workplace challenges. She has consulted with various employee assistance programmes, and has a focus on life transition and adjustment, stress management and self-esteem issues. She has a particular interest in cardiac psychology and other health and lifestyle related psychological issues.

Vanessa is a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Professional with demonstrated experience in assessment and implementation of effective treatment plans for individuals with varying mental health disorders across their lifespan. She is a compassionate professional who can engage quickly and effectively with clients, build rapport with many different personality types, proactively assisting in problem resolution and goal setting to enhance quality of life and psychological well-being.

Vanessa’s personal style is warm, engaging and passionate and builds upon her significant academic qualifications in both social work practice and counseling psychology. She works holistically with her clients and uses a variety of psychological evidenced based interventions. As each client is unique, interventions are tailored to the individual with focus on building rapport with the client, drawing upon multiple therapeutic approaches including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused therapy and other psycho-therapeutic approaches to assist the client in understanding past patterns of behaviour which may impact current life experiences.

Vanessa has worked in a range of government and public sector roles in addition to independent private practice as a clinician, supervisor and training consultant.
